Testimonials

  • LA was one of the greatest things in my development as a leader and a new person in the Community. It challenged me about what I had assumed about myself and why I needed the others that were in this class with me! The number of times I have called on my classmates since my May graduation is too many to recall. EVERY one in that room I now consider leaders that will attack the issues that must be addressed!

A defense contractor since 2004, Vince Cruz is extremely passionate about the job he does helping provide the highest level of service to the Warfighter. He is Operations Manager with Raytheon IIS.

“It makes you feel good about what you do every day when you know you are making a difference and saving the lives of the Marines and sailors defending our country,” he says. A strong believer in community, his family has committed strongly to the youth of the surrounding communities using academics and sports as a platform to reach out and make a difference.

Vince grew up “all over the world” as a child of a Marine. Through all the places he has lived, he still considers Guam home.

“The coolest thing about it is the diversity of the culture. When you are on Guam, you see a multitude of different cultures either living there or visiting.” He loved taking his family there for their first experience in 2012.

“What was extraordinary to them was just home to me,” he recalls. In Albany about 20 years, Don and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Brett, Brittney, and Slater, and one granddaughter, Haylee.

“We are proud of all the things we have done for this community and for all that is to come,” he says. “I take pride in hiring people who are from Albany… I always look to the local community first when it comes to recruiting or searching out candidates for opportunities.”
