Matt Atkins is a certified public accountant with Draffin & Tucker, LLP, a job that allows him to help hospitals and other healthcare providers add value to their organizations.

“I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I find a way to make our services pay for themselves,” he says of the work he’s done for six years. “I also really enjoy the teaching component. There is a great deal of training each day for younger staff, as well as constant learning for myself.”

A more recent learning experience has come in real estate, where Matt finds himself in the rental property business. He’s a self-admitted addict for finding good deals.

“It’s a lot of fun looking and evaluating different properties available, and there are really some neat homes in the older neighborhoods,” says the Albany native. He especially appreciates the natural beauty of Albany and the outdoor activities available all around.

Matt and his wife of seven years, Angela, have two children, two-and-a-half- year- old Ethan and nine-month-old, Elizabeth. He loves spending time with his family, and calls Ethan his shadow on the weekends.
