If he’s not at work as vice president and banker with SB&T, you’re likely to find Jamie Knight coaching and cheering on his kids at the Lee County Recreation Department or down south saltwater fishing with his family. The Leesburg native makes no bones about it – family is important.
Jamie married his high school sweetheart (since age 15), and they have two children, Lacey and Colby. Together they’re raising them to love the outdoors and to know that any time spent together on the water is time not wasted. And then there’s football…“I’m a huge Atlanta Falcons fan, which occupies 16 of my Sunday afternoons in the fall and winter,” he admits.
Jamie’s passion spills over into his professional life, where giving graciously back to his community and helping clients realize personal dreams are important to him. Giving back to the community can take many shapes, he says, and includes volunteering time and efforts on local boards, spending time with youth and elderly, helping small businesses to grow, or investing time in individuals to help them realize personal goals such as home ownership, preparing for college, or planning for retirement.
“I’d like to be remembered as someone who put others before himself,” says Jamie. “Someone who was a great friend that could be called on at any time, for any reason. Someone who never really grew up at heart, and who always strived to impress mama and daddy by being a great father, husband, son, and brother.
“I’m so thankful for my family who give me a reason to work hard and a purpose for getting home as soon as I can each day.”
