Education and providing opportunities for disadvantaged students is what Tanjula Petty is most passionate about professionally. The Vice President of Academic Affairs at Albany Technical College says commencement is a most special time for her.
“Witnessing the faces of the graduates and their families as they celebrate their major accomplishment” is exciting, says the 12-year educator.
Outside of work, Tanjula loves to travel and spend time with her family. The Montgomery, Alabama, native also loves going to the gym, reading, volunteering, and a good nap. One thing she says that would be impossible for her to give up – candy. “I love sweets.”
How would she like to be remembered? “As a person who is fair and loves her family,” says Tanjula. “I would love to be remembered for my dedication to the cause of educating communities.”
